As the youngest of four, Rosannagh (Rosie) MacLennan often tagged along to her older siblings’ lessons. When she was 7, Rosie could no longer stand and watch from the sidelines and she finally got her turn on the trampolines at Airborne. When her brothers’ feet started hitting the roof, all four kids switched to Skyriders Trampoline Place where Rosie continues to train.
At age 11, Rosie began competing internationally, and since then her competitive performance has demonstrated that she is a rising star in her sport.
2005: Awarded Canadian National Women’s Champion.
2006: Teamed up with her training partner, the Olympian Karen Cockburn, in synchronized trampoline, winning eight consecutive World Cup events including the World Cup Finals in Birmingham.
2007: Competed at the World Championships in Quebec City, earning a spot for Canada at the Beijing Olympics alongside long-time friend, synchronized trampoline partner and fellow Olympian Karen Cockburn.
2008: Qualified for the finals at the Beijing Olympics and eventually finished in 7th place overall.
2009: Awarded Canadian National Women’s Champion in St. Petersburg.
2011: Awarded Canadian National Women’s Champion, and took home the gold medal at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico. This was followed by a second place finish at the Trampoline World Championships in Birmingham, UK where she earned her ticket to the London 2012 Summer Olympics.
2012: Competed at the test event for the 2012 London Games where she came in first place, beating out fierce competition. Eventually taking home the Gold medal.
2013: Awarded the gold medal at the World Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria
2014: Awarded Canadian National Women’s Champion in Ottawa
2016: Awarded the Canadian National Women’s Champion again in Edmonton, and will be the official flagbearer in the opening ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
